Xiaomi on Tuesday (April 15, 2025) launched the Redmi A5 smartphone in India. The entry segment 4G phone is IP52 rated for splashes.

The Redmi A5 has a 6.88-inch HD+ display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 600 nits peak brightness. It features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Xiaomi has used a 5,200 mAh battery in Redmi A5 supported by a 15 W charger in the box.

Redmi A5 comes with an octa-core Unisoc T7250 processor with up to 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The phone also offers up to 2 TB of expandable storage.

The Redmi A5 runs on Android 15, and Xiaomi will provide two years of software updates and four years of security patches.

Redmi A5 sports a 32 MP main camera and a secondary lens. It has an 8 MP selfie camera.

The Redmi A5 will be available in two storage variants: 3 GB/64 GB priced at ₹6,499, and a 4 GB/ 128 GB variant at ₹7,499. It will go on sale starting April 16 at Mi.com, Amazon, Flipkart, and across leading retail outlets.
