In an adorable video shared by the Texas Rangers, the players were happy celebrating the team manager Bruce Bochy’s 70th birthday. There was a little surprise waiting for him on the field, and he looked overjoyed because of that.
How Bruce Bochy was left surprised by his grandson
Braxton Bochy, who is Bruce Bochy’s grandson, surprised him with something beautiful. In a video shared by Texas Rangers, Braxton said.
“I’ll throw out the first pitch.”
When asked who he was going to throw it to, Braxton said:
“Papa, it’s his 70th birthday.”
When asked whether Bruce was aware that Braxton was throwing his first pitch, Braxton said, “no.”
The video was heartwarming to see, as little Braxton, who wore a Texas Rangers jersey, walked into a crowd on the field, with his grandfather, who stood in one corner of the field. As Braxton threw out his first pitch, his grandfather, Bruce, managed to catch it, and just smiled. He waved and shook his grandson’s hand. His family then came and hugged Bruce, they then posed for a photo together.
Texas Rangers fans loved the video, and called the moment adorable.
Bruce Bochy the force behind Texas Rangers’ 2023 World Series Championship
Bruce Bochy has lived a pretty long career and is still leading the headlines. Bochy is a French-American baseball manager and has also been a player. Earlier, he played as a catcher for the Houston Astros, New York Mets, and San Diego Padres.
After Bochy retired, he took up the role of a manager. He managed the San Diego Padres for 12 years, from 1995 to 2006, and he also led them to the World Series in 1998, then he took up the San Francisco Giants from 2007 to 2019, who won three World Series titles in 2010, 2012, and 2014.
It was in 2023, when Bochy led the Texas Rangers to their first-ever World Series championship in his first season with the team.
