MISSOULA, Mont. — NBC Montana reached out to Montana’s congressional delegation for comments about U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders and U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s visit to Missoula on Wednesday.
U.S. Sen. Steve Daines said, “Bernie Sanders and AOC’s ideas could not be more out of step with our Montana way of life. And that is why Montanans overwhelmingly elected President Trump and Tim Sheehy and re-elected Ryan Zinke. We oppose the far left’s agenda that includes shutting down made-in-Montana energy, reckless spending and higher prices. And Montanans will reject the out-of-touch radical ideas being pushed by Bernie Sanders and AOC in Missoula.”
We also reached out to U.S. Rep. Ryan Zinke and received a response from a reelection spokesman saying Democrats have lost touch with Montana voters: “The Montana Democratic Party has completely lost touch with Montana voters and their welcoming of two literal socialists is proof.”
U.S. Rep. Troy Downing released a statement on his X account saying the left has “lost the plot”:
U.S. Sen. Tim Sheehy also took to X, sharing a statement that “Montanans already rejected their radical agenda on Nov. 5”:
