COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– On the way home from work a Midlands man won a $500,000 payday, according to SC Lottery.
The man brought home a $10 scratch-off from the Irmo Mini Mart on Lake Murray Blvd. and scratched off a top prize win.
“I was at a loss for words,” he told South Carolina Education Lottery officials as he described his reaction to the half-a-million-dollar winning.
He also told lottery officials his family was equally surprised when they found out he was spending the prize money on them.
“It stuns you. It’s been life changing for us,” he said.
Odds of winning $500,000 in the Big $pin game are 1 in 1,500,000. Two more top prizes remain in the game.
