Have Detroit Tigers recaptured the spirit of the ’24 season or is this their new identity?
Mark and guest host Bobby Scales analyze the winning culture and new identity the Tigers have brought with them into the 2025 season.
The Detroit Tigers (10-8), who have played 12 of their first 18 games on the road, are coming back home to Comerica Park.
After getting out to a 9-5 record to start the season, the Tigers have lost three of their last four games in part because of a teamwide offensive slump.
Detroit has only scored one run in its last two games, coming off an opposite-field home run from Spencer Torkelson with the Tigers already down by four runs to the Milwaukee Brewers. Torkelson has been a bright spot for the Tigers lineup, which has so far gotten subpar performances out of Riley Greene and Colt Keith.
Torkelson and the rest of the Tigers are coming back to Comerica for a four-game series against the Kansas City Royals (8-11), the Tigers’ first four-game series of the season. They will be looking to snap their two-game losing skid while maintaining their ½ game lead over the Cleveland Guardians in the American League Central standings.
The Tigers currently have a 2 ½ game lead over the Royals in the AL Central standings and are looking to extend their lead.
The series begins on Thursday, with first pitch scheduled for 6:40 p.m.
