Surrey council voted against supporting the Agricultural Land Reserve exclusion of approximately 50 acres from The Hills at Portal course at a public hearing Monday.
2. New Redwood Park Elementary school in South Surrey approved
The B.C. government has approved a new school in South Surrey, to be named Redwood Park Elementary.
3. New knees, hips in 1 day at White Rock’s Peace Arch Hospital
Eligible patients can now check into Peace Arch Hospital in the morning, and leaving that same afternoon with a new hip or knee, thanks to a surgical same-day discharge program.
4. Surrey man’s $500K lotto win to buy Disneyland trip, early retirement
Surrey resident Alan Medeiros plans to put most of his lottery winnings into investments, but also looks forward to taking his family on a “dream trip to Disneyland” after winning $500,000 in the Daily Grand lotto draw of April 3.
5. Social Justice film screening in White Rock
No Other Land, an Oscar-winning 2024 documentary on the quest for peaceful solutions to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, is the next film to be screened by South Rock Social Justice April 25.
