CLEVELAND, Ohio (WKBN) – The Cleveland Guardians have officially recalled infielder/outfielder Angel Martinez from Triple-A Columbus.

In a corresponding roster move, the team has optioned outfielder Johnathan Rodriguez to Triple-A Columbus.
This season at Triple-A, Martinez has appeared in 8 games, posting a .344 batting average with 6 doubles and 8 RBI’s.
He made his Major League debut last season with the Guardians. In 43 games with Cleveland, he batted .232 with 3 home runs, 7 doubles, 11 RBI’s, and 3 stolen bases.
The Guardians are currently 4-6 on the season. They will play game two of their series against Kansas City on Tuesday at 6:10 p.m. at Progressive Field.
