Harness racing fans are in for a treat this Easter long weekend, with a bumper day of racing and entertainment on Good Friday, followed by more high-quality action on Easter Saturday and Sunday – all while supporting the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
The Stawell Harness Racing Club will take centre stage on Good Friday with its feature meeting, the Stawell Toyota Pleasant Creek Plate. The club has pulled out all stops to deliver a fun-filled day for families and racegoers alike, with a mix of top-class harness racing, live entertainment and kids’ activities.
Gates open at 12:30pm with free entry, and the first of seven races is set to go at 1:29pm.
Later that evening, attention turns to Cranbourne Harness Racing Club, which hosts a dual-code twilight meeting. The program begins at 5:30pm, giving racing fans the opportunity to enjoy a full day of Good Friday action across two venues.
Adding extra significance to the weekend’s racing is the sport’s continued support of the Good Friday Appeal. This year, Harness Racing Victoria has donated $10,000 to the Appeal, which helps fund critical services and research at The Royal Children’s Hospital.
The Easter racing action continues Saturday, April 19, with Melton Entertainment Park hosting a strong nine-race card featuring several evenly matched contests. The first event is scheduled for 5:32pm.
Echuca Harness Racing Club wraps up the Easter celebrations with an 8-race program which kicks off at 5:32pm.
